Gaza Freedom March is Determined to Break the Siege
CAIRO – December 21 – Citing escalating tensions on the Gaza-Egypt border, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry informed us on December 20 that the Rafah border will be closed over the coming weeks, into January. We responded that there is always tension at the border because of the siege and that if there are any risks, they are risks we are willing to take. We also said that it was too late for over 1,360 delegates coming from over 42 countries to change their plans now.
Although we consider this as a setback, it is something we’ve encountered—and overcome–before. No delegation, large or small, that has entered Gaza over the past 12 months has received a final OK before arriving at the Rafah border. Most delegations were discouraged from even heading out of Cairo to Rafah. Some had their buses stopped on the way. Some have been told outright that they could not go into Gaza. But after public and political pressure, the Egyptian government changed its position and let them pass.
Our efforts and plans will not be altered at this point. We have set out to break the siege of Gaza and to march in Gaza on December 31 against the international blockade. We are continuing the journey.
Egyptian embassies and missions all over the world will be hearing by phone, fax and email from delegates and the supporters of the Gaza Freedom March over the coming crucial days, with the clear message: Let the international delegation enter Gaza and let the Gaza Freedom March proceed.
Many delegates are already in Cairo and more are arriving daily. Delegates cancelled holiday plans months ago to come on the Gaza Freedom march and air tickets were purchased. We anticipate that virtually all of the 1,360 delegates will come to Cairo.
Because of the incredible humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by the Israeli attack on Gaza a year ago and by the international siege on Gaza, we feel morally obligated to continue our mission to bring more international attention to the plight of the 1.5 million people imprisoned in Gaza.

PROFESSIONAL MISCONDUCT
The Department of Justice issued its report on the actions of the DoJ lawyers who authored the legal memos authorizing torture. The report from the DoJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility concluding that the attorneys, specifically John Yoo and Jay Bybee, engaged in “professional misconduct.” Associate Deputy Attorney General David Margolis found that the lawyers exercised “poor judgment.” The OPR finding would under normal circumstances require transmittal to the state bar for disciplinary proceedings. However, Mr. Margolis, a 17-year employee of the DoJ who was in a supervisory position when the legal memos were written, has specifically refused to allow the OPR report to be transmitted.
Our campaign attorney will file the DoJ/OPR findings with the various state bar disciplinary committees. These committees are already reviewing the complaints filed last summer against 15 of the most culpable torture lawyers as part of our work to ensure accountability for their heinous actions. We are asking that disbarment proceedings proceed quickly in light of these reports.
Our concerns are not limited to the lawyers in this case.Official & professional misconduct, is and has been for the last several years, ramped in federal, State, and local governments. Highly infiltrated by special interest groups, and foreign interest money. Nothing absolutely nothing is being done in the best interest of the American people.
With AIPAC at the helm, the Zionist organized crime syndicate influences all agencies, even to the point of controlling the think tanks officials take their orders from. If not cooperated with assassinations occur, sabotage, and attacks on both domestic and foreign assets & interest. Our primary threat is AIPAC, Israel, and mossad agents. Over the same period, international law and community is held at bay by USA officials who are corrupted by bribes, donations, and gratuities.
IF we have any official that has not been on a free vacation to Israel (Tel Aviv), that we call a brain washing tour. Then they will be going soon, or their career is over.
We all were filled with HOPE FOR CHANGE, but with the strong strangle-hold on congress, other officials and religious leaders we get nothing but more war. Even spiritual warfare.
Voters beware!! We need a third party to rebuild a democracy here in America.

“Peace or Apartheid” are not the only options for Israel”

Ehud Barak, Israel’s defense minister. In a speech to the annual national security conference in Herzliya, and then again in the U.S., he warned that if Israel did not make peace with the Palestinians, it would become an “apartheid” state.

WHY IRAN? Give Iran a Break!
- ***************************
As the author accurately pointed out Iran has not attacked any country for 300 years. And the Islamic Republic of Iran since its formation in the past 31 years has not invaded any country either, while it has been attacked by the former dictator of Iraq Saddam Hussein. Natually, every country when attacked will defend itself against an aggressor and this is what Iran did. The former dictator of Iraq whose country is now under attack by the U.S. Gov. was in fact supported by the U.S., and other Western countries while some of the Arab countries namely Saudi Arabia and Kuwait provided the funding for the war. Not only was Iraq supported by the U.S. and European countries by providing state of the art military aircrafts and military arsenal, some of these countries also provided Iraq with chemical and biological weapons, which were used not only by Saddam against his own people but also against Iranian soldiers and civilians. Iran did not retaliate in kind. Furthermore when the U.S. invaded Iraq illegally in its now famous “Shock & Awe”, as it gathered the coalition of the willing, Iran was also invited to participate as a retalitory measure against Iraq’s war with Iran – Iran refused!!
Iran had nothing against the Iraqi people and was not willing to particicpate in an illegal war of aggression, while other countries did and some Arab countries even allowed their military bases and air spaces to be used against their Arab brothers.
Iran has been one of the staunchest supporters of the Palestinians especially under President Ahmadinejad. It has been the voice of the voiceless and in return has gained the wrath of the Zionist regime and the U.S.

I don't think the Zionists are interested in dominating the Palestinians. They are only interested in Annihilating the Palestinians. All of these peace talks and cease fires are nothing but a show for Americans in the American media. It is only a distraction. Their goal is to cleanse Palestine of Palestinians. They have two methods to accomplish this goal.
A) Make life so miserable so Palestinians leave on their own accord.
B) Reduce the number of Palestinians via periodic Massacres.
It appears they are using both of these methods simultaneously these days.
The only hope and I repeat, the only hope for Palestinians is a victory for the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of President Ahmadinejad over American imperialism and Israeli Zionism.
Also, you have to understand that a high majority of Iranians outside of Iran belong to that class of Iranians who were abusing that nation prior to the 1979 revolution and have no place inside of Iran any longer. This is a very important point to understand.
Here is more proof that these Arab nations with leaders who dance to the music of American government like street monkeys can not be relied upon when it comes to the future of Palestinians. I say it again, their only hope relies on a successful struggle of IRI under President Ahmadinejad against American/Zionist imperialism.

Dear Ms. Menon,
Thank you for an excellent and well written article.
Iran is neither a threat to the U.S., to Israel, to its neighbours, or any other nation. These are all propaganda and disinformation used by the US Gov. by Israel, and the Zionist Lobby to once again create another bogus enemy to do what has been done to Iraq, and now Afghanistan, Pakistan and of course let's not forget Palestine.
Why Iran? It's because Iran is the only country who has stood up to the bullying powers, something which is simply unacceptable by the super-power and the dominating force in the Middle East Israel. An independent Iran is a threat to US/Israeli hegemony of this oil rich region.
All of this talk about Iran's intent of building a nuclear bomb is nothing but political games played by the West and Israel. Iran has a right to enrich uranium as a signatory to the NPT for civilian purposes.
Alternative sources of energy are a must for the entire world including the countries in the Middle East.
The ME cannot rely solely on their oil and gas, a depleting resource to provide the fuel needed for domestic consumption and the major source of revenue for these countries. Iran has gained this know-how on its own without the help of any other country. It will be willing to share this know-how with its neighbours in the region. This will break the dominance of the U.S. in the ME. This is why Iran is a threat.

Getting Away With Murder”
Superb analysis of what happened in Dubai. Am I the only person who thinks that the Israelis are utter cowards...sending 18 Mossad agents to murder one unarmed Palestinian?
Truegreta

This is definitely not the first time something like this, and worse, has happened. Everyone wants to ignore the murder of American soldiers on the U.S.S Liberty back in the 1960's.
Israel's excuse was "oops" and American officials' response was "it happens, no problem". I don't of know all the atrocities allowed by that "state" but I would hope that someone could stand up and do something about it, instead of continuing to sweep it under the rug

Hmmm...This seemingly hard-hitting commentary has just lost a helluva lot of credibiity in my view. To wit: after reading it word for word and then scanning it again, I am disquieted, and suspicious, that not one utterance of the word "Israel" or of the role played by that rogue, psychotically criminal Zionist bastion in the Middle East escaped Mr. Floyd's keyboard.
Why is that, Mr. Floyd? Are you a PEP -- "Progressive Except for Palestine?" How can you fail to recognize that the Zionist Lobby exercises absolute control over the workings of our Congress, Oval Office, State, Defense, Treasury, NSC, etc.; that it has a chokehold on the media, thinktanks, etc.? Cheney, Mr. Floyd, is a mere willing, power-mad puppet for the Zionist horde (remember Feith; Wurmser?), just as was the now-in-hiding dry-drunk Dubya...just as are HClinton and Joe "Zionist" Biden and Barack Hussein Obama, whose Chief of Staff just happens to be one Rahm Israel Emanuel.
Radiating outward from ZioIsrael's genocidal urges against the Palestinians are the endless, psychotic machinations against Lebanon, and Syria...oh, Yes, Mr. Floyd, remember Iraq, circa the runup to war for ZioIsrael in 2002?...oh, yes, Mr. Floyd, aren't you observing the very same machinations against Iran in 2010 and ever since Iraq was wrecked as a viable state? I am disturbed, and suspicious, and outraged....

Open Letter to NYT’s Roger Cohen – Even Harder Truths
Thank you, Mr. Alan Hart, for writing this very nice open letter to Mr. Roger Cohn of the New York Times. I agree with what you have written here. Mr. Cohn deserves to be congratulated for writing “Hard Mideast Truths”. It took a lot of courage on his part. If anyone else had written the same article, I do not think that The NYT would have published it.
I was so impressed with Mr. Roger Cohn’s article that I wrote a comment and sent it, and to my great astonishment, the Times did indeed publish it. I must say that in the past it censored a few of my comments because I suppose I was too critical of Israel for their taste, even though I never used abusive language in my comments. Here is the comment I wrote:
Thank you very much, Mr. Cohn, for writing this column. May I say that you have reached the 95 meters mark, and stopped abruptly just before reaching the goal. I wish you stated clearly and boldly that after saying the right things in Egypt regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, President Obama returned to Washington only to buckle under pressure from the AIPAC lobby and the "Israel First" congressmen and senators. He wavered regarding his demand that Israel refrain from building more settlements, and then sent Secretary of State Clinton to Jerusalem only to praise Netanyahu’s intransigence, calling his promise to slow down the expansion of settlements "unprecedented" and praise-worthy. He has already assured Netanyahu that he will not cut off military aid and foreign aid to Israel, so Netanyahu knows that he could ignore Obama completely and do whatever he wishes in the West Bank, and especially in East Jerusalem.
I think President Obama should admit that he has failed, and ask the United Nations to take over the problem, and ask the EU and Russia and the Muslim nations in the Middle East to work with the UN and bring about a peace agreement. In the absence of an UN initiative, the "boycott Israel" movement will gather momentum, and an economic boycott of Israel will finally bring down the Israeli apartheid regime just as it brought down the apartheid regime of South Africa on March 26, 1998. The current situation in Palestine, especially the devastated region of Gaza can not prevail much longer.

Cynthia McKinney for President in 2012! This is a great, inspiring speech, which Ms. McKinney must tailor (without removing a smidgen of the passion and principle) for U.S. audiences.

Greetings and aloha, Mr. John, from Hawaii, where just weeks ago you presented a concert.
I didn't go to it, but the reviews were of the rave variety; my son-in-law reported that it was vintage(-plus) Elton John.
I am horrified, and saddened, and angered, by the brutal colonial occupation of the Palestinians' rightful homeland by Israel.
This occupation is decades long and continues before our very eyes, with no prospect for near-term surcease for the Christian and Muslim Palestinians.
I have learned that you plan to present a concert in Tel Aviv in June. Mr. John, that would be the wrong signal, in a place of centrality to the continuation of the sadistic occupation, at a time when principled opposition to Israel's reign of state terror and racist exclusivity is building across the globe.
I ask that you respond, with equal principle and the humanity I know you possess, to the need to let Israel know that "not now, not tomorrow, not ever again" applies most particularly and urgently to the land of Palestine and its suffering children, women, and men.
Please reflect deeply and make the right decision: cancel the planned concert in Israel!
Thank you, Sir Elton, for your time and attention;

****************Great work getting Santana to cancel if it's true. It's already an injustice that Israel's allowed to play in European soccer championships and Eurovision Song Contest.
The world must rise in protest against the growing Obama-Netanyahu plan to bomb Iran. It's time the world knew that Israel has far more nuclear weapons than Iran will ever have. Carlos Santana cancels Israel concert???
We have received a report that guitar legend Carlos Santana has cancelled the scheduled June 3rd concert in Zionist Israel. We are in the process of verifying the report and will be reporting on further developments
The report says that Carlos Santana has promised a full refund to the thousands of Israelis who had already purchased tickets. Zionist promoter Shuki Weiss, the Israeli behind nearly all of the big-name concerts in Israel, was surprised and disappointed to hear of the news, the report said.
La Voz de Aztlan had previously reported on the "Concert of Shame" and many people responded by asking Carlos to cancel the concert considering the war crimes and massacre of over 300 Palestinian children that the Zionist regime committed about a year ago. See http://www.aztlan.net/santana_concert_of_shame.htm
This is great news if the report is true. All reports coming out of Israel have to be verified because Zionists are notorious deceivers.

USS Liberty Archive
Very good, the story of the USS Liberty needs to be spread far and wide. It has been suppressed by the US Gov't for 40 years. I correspond with one of the survivors on a semi-regular basis, and what happened to them is high crime by a complicit gov't. Israel is NOT a friend of the US.
More (Americans) need to be aware of the stranglehold that Israel and the Zionists of AIPAC have on our foreign policy. They are literally sucking the life out of this country and the rest of the world.
Thank you for keeping this story alive. We owe it to the 34 who perished, and the survivors who took care of them, and the wounded.

Cynthia McKinney: I Finally Made it to Gaza; No Wonder the Israelis Didn’t Want Photos Taken
***************The Viva Palestina convoy, led by George Galloway, is about to leave Gaza after having been permitted to enter for a period of 24 hours after waiting 11 days in Cairo for permission to enter Gaza. That in and of itself is a major story when expanded to include the inability of Gazans to exit The Strip--even if only to enter another part of their country, the West Bank or to move about freely in the fictional "Palestinian State."
I say fictional because it continues to dwindle even while peace talks are underway. Fictional, because Palestinian elections deemed by international observers to be free and fair, don't count if the US- and Israel-approved party loses, and the winners get to sit for years in an Israeli jail. Fictional, because they use Israel's currency here, the shekel, and the international roaming on our US cell phones indicates calls are from Israel.
Gaza is beautiful. Gaza is full of life, despite Israel's Operation Cast Lead. And now, I have seen, Gaza has been bombed to smithereens. I think I've mastered my video camera enough to share some images with you. I'll post them on the sites below when I return.
In the meantime, my fellow Americans and citizens of the world, we have a lot to do to put right all the wrong things done in our name. Much love to all of you who helped me, guided me, prayed for me, to make this successful entry into Gaza happen. Viva Palestina!!Free Gaza!!--
Everyone said it couldn't be done, that we were insane, that we would never get into Gaza. But we did, and we got in four more times before Israel began to stop us. But we will go again and again. Never underestimate the power of determined people, especially those people working for justice for the Palestinians.

Palestine, My Bride (Poem by Shakeel Syed)
Dreams … Aspirations,
Love … Laughter,
Tears … Sorrow,
All in you, yet unrealized,
O Palestine, My Bride …
Your Silwan … screams,
Your Gaza … gagged,
Your Hebron … horrified,
Your Ramallah … wrenching,
All in you, yet in tears,
O Palestine, My Bride …
Your green gardens … brown,
Your flowing rivers … dried,
Your mighty mountains … humbled,
Your dreamy deserts … ruined,
All in you, yet you smile,
O Palestine, My Bride …
O Palestine, My Bride …
You measure yourself not in miles … but in
Checkpoints and Roadblocks,
You name your cities & towns - not by name …
but by Walls, Fences & Barriers,
You visit your Villages and Hamlets … but through
Trenches and over Boulders,
All in you – keep smiling and
All of me - keep dreaming
for your Love & Laughter,
for my Tears & Sorrow,
One Day – O Palestine
You Will Be My Bride
end
Shakeel – You have captured so much emotion in so few words – sign of a great poem! I know it is difficult to keep heart when so much seems heartless, but the beating of your own drum will be heard!!

The Spirit of Humanity: Poem from Prison by Mairead Maguire
***************For Gaza and the Palestinian People
‘Spirit of humanity'
As long as
The people of Palestine
Have no liberty, no freedom
Those of us with a voice to speak
Must speak
As long as
The children of Gaza
Live in fear of Israeli
Bombs and occupation
Those of us with a voice to speak
Must speak
As long as
Six million Palestinian refugees
Are deportees around the world
Those of us with a voice to speak
Must speak
As long as
Millions of god's children
Are hungry, imprisoned, and without hope
Those of us with a voice to speak
Must speak
Because it is in speaking
We find our liberty, our freedom
And no prison bars can take away
Our peace, our love
Which is the true spirit of humanity

Bravo! George, Cynthia, Mairead, Greta, Michael Prysner, Michael Heart, and the rest of you, for your determination and persistence. You are true democrats and humanists.
Thanks Elias Farhud of INTIFADA, for your tireless efforts to bring us regular up-dates on the developements as they took place in Egypt and Gaza.
The MSM (MainStream Media) Editors and Producers don’t see the truth for what it is or knowing it all along, cannot find the spine, or the profitability to change their stance and start writing true stories like this, for a great many reasons, keeping jobs being just one of the obvious ones.
Most mainstream journalists have always been fence straddlers, go along-get along types, and has, and have simply failed to come to grips with the bottom line in this Neo-Zio-Israeli-American panzer plot either because they are too ignorant, too timid, or like their jobs too much.
American readership has for long believed everything they read in MSM, which is their primary source of opinion and knowledge.
You cannot change what the Neo-Zio of MSM publish, or what music the Bandmasters play at this dance, unless you can buy them out.
“An editor here, or a violinist there, may write the Truth, or play to the true score, but one will not change the Headlines, and the other will not be heard by the audience over all the other instruments playing to the directors beat.” They have been at it for 50 years.
Which is why, we must encourage and develope more “alternative” music groups like INTIFADA!
